KOMODO ISLAND






Perhaps not many know that it turns out the natural beauty of the island of komodo save no less than other regions in Indonesia. Moreover, it can be seen from the island of Komodo elected as the new 7 wonders competition finalists some time ago.
 Komodo Island is an island located in the Nusa Tenggara islands. Komodo Island is known as a habitat for native animals dragons. This island is the Komodo National Park which is managed by the Central Government. Komodo Island in the eastern island of Sumbawa, separated by Sape Strait.
Administratively, this island including the District of Komodo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Komodo Island is the most western tip of Nusa Tenggara Timur province, bordering the province of West Nusa Tenggara.
  On Komodo Island, Komodo animals live and breed well. Until August 2009, on this island there are about 1,300 dragons tail. Coupled with other islands, such as Island and Rinca and Gili Mota, their number reached about 2500 tails. There are also approximately 100 individuals dragons in Wae Wuul Nature Reserve on the mainland island of Flores, but not including the Komodo National Park.

 Besides Komodo, this island also store a variety of exotic flora Sepang wood by local people used as medicine and dye clothes, nitak tree Sterculia oblongata in believe or useful as medicines and seeds are tasty and delicious like peas.

According to history, in 1910 the Dutch named the island on the south side of the province of East Nusa Tenggara is the nickname of Komodo Island. This story begins with Lieutenant Steyn van Hens Broek who tries to prove statements about the presence of Dutch troops large animal resembling a dragon on the island. Steyn then killed a dragon and bring documentation to the Museum and Botanical Garden in Bogor to be investigated.

 The island is also famous for Komodo monitor lizards, the largest lizard in the world. An alert and agile predators and scavengers that can reach 2.5 meters and 125 kg, they are known locally as 'Ora' and now some 1,100 inhabited islands and about half live in the nearby Rinca Island.
 Just like the island Derawan, There are many excellent dive sites around the park, many of which will be the jewel in the crown of the lower dive destination but if we have to restrict the highlights then we can do no better than to recommend to you:

 Stone Cannibal - Unlike many Komodo dive site, there is a bit of a heart-stopping action here, but in terms of color and activity there spots a little better. There is just so much going on around the mountain sea: purple gorgonians, anemones, coral and white and yellow spiral sea apples together make a riot of color. In and around this vibrant tableau sessile life of all kinds of marine life make a night dive here is just awesome. All rays while, snapper, thick lips and turtles wandering rocks. Night or day, Rock Cannibal inspiration.

 Yellow Wall Of Texas - One more signature dive Komodo Island National Park, Yellow Wall is so named because the strong proliferation of sea cucumbers - they are all over the place and their bright yellow hue dominates the vista. Not only is the wall itself promises much in the way of entertainment but sharks, manta rays and turtles all the frequent passing.

Gili Lawa - There are several dive sites around the Gili Gili Lawa Lawa Sea and Land. Bommie is submerged crystalline peaks with large school action. Castle Rock is another site that is open to the sharks, trevally and even dolphins regularly visible. This verse can be a great site for manta rays and rays mobula and also makes an amazing night dive. This is not a place most regularly visited dive in Komodo, but when conditions are right, they can show you some of what makes diving here so special.

GPS Point - Often heralded as the pinnacle of Komodo dive, this site is one where the current can come into play. Flows usually means fish and here you can meet a lot of tuna, barracuda, Napoleon and a variety of sharks, including hammerheads may even. The shallows are full of macro life living among soft corals and staghorns where you can check out when calm conditions. It is usually a high adrenalin diving excited that dominates the conversation while back on your board Komodo liveaboard.
